Who we are.
Project Eastern Sun is a collective of Iranian activists using art, memory, and testimony to confront silence with truth.
We document and recreate the lived experiences of those who have faced injustice under the Islamic Republic of Iran. These are stories told by those directly affected, stories that might otherwise be erased, ignored, or forgotten. By transforming them into visual narratives, we seek not only to preserve memory, but to ignite moral clarity and collective resistance.
Our work centers on short animated films and interviews that reflect both the brutality of oppression and the unshakable resilience of those who endure it. Every story we tell is a call to witness, and a reminder that truth, once spoken, can dismantle even the most entrenched forms of power.
This project is also an act of historical preservation. We believe these testimonies belong in the collective record, where they can be seen, heard, and remembered, not just today, but for generations to come.
We are not journalists. We are not neutral. We stand with those who resist, who remember, and who refuse to be silenced.
